Psychotherapy for Positive Change
NEW YORK CITY
Live More Fully
Most of us navigate the world by relying on thoughts and beliefs we acquired long ago. Barely noticed, these can provide a valuable compass, helping us face challenges. But they can also stop working for us, leaving us feeling stuck as we respond to life's ups and downs. Our work together uncovers these stuck places, opens new perspectives, and finds new ways of responding to life and embracing yourself.

Jeanne Baron, LMHC, MS
Permit holder in Mental Health Counseling
I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches—including the Gottman Method for couples, cognitive behavioral therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gestalt, Jungian, and other psychodynamic frameworks—while maintaining a strong focus on the present moment. These methods are more than just technical terms; they’re meaningful tools for real change. I specialize in working with adults, both individuals and couples, on concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, intimacy, major life transitions, relationship challenges, and experiences specific to the LGBTQ community. Sessions can be in-person or virtual, and I offer both short-term and long-term support. While cultural background may not matter to every client, for some it’s deeply meaningful. For this reason, I will share that I am a queer, white, Jewish woman who is comfortable and respectful in navigating across race, class, culture and other queer identities. My approach is warm, grounded, and collaborative. I don’t just listen passively—I’m present with you, every step of the way. No matter where you’re starting from, meaningful growth is always possible—one conversation at a time, building on the here and now.
